Reductil and Eating Disorders Precautions

Reductil is a product that helps curb appetite. However, it is not recommended for people with eating disorders.

The question is, how would you determine if you have an eating disorder? A brief description of the most common types are indicated below.

Anorexia-This disease is most prevalent in young teens and young women. However, it can hit met and women of any age. A person who is suffering from this eating disorder will be so fixated on feeling fat that she or he will even refuse to eat.

This along with compulsive exercise leads to rapid, unhealthy weight loss. A person who is now too thin as a result may have formerly been made fun of for being “fat.” Either that or this individual may be compensating for a poor self image problem perhaps because of being abused or neglected at home.

Bulimia-A person who suffers this disease usually binges and purges. A person who is bulimic may also eat large quantities of food in one sitting-far more calories than is appropriate to consume in one day.

Sometimes bulimics are obese while other times they may be very thin. It depends upon the person’s metabolism level as well as the frequency in which they purge after compulsive eating.

People who suffer this type of eating disorder may often use laxatives to evacuate large quantities of food, too. Often for this individual it is an issue of very poor self-image in conjunction of wanting control but not wanting to harm another person.

Compulsive eating-Generally, this person has a hard time with knowing when to stop eating. In the most severe cases, this person will eat until feeling bloated. The person may even accidentally vomit or suffer from acid reflux.

If this condition continues, a person may eventually suffer heart disease, diabetes, kidney failure, or a number of other problems. A person who suffers this disease is often over-compensating for some other emotional loss or void.

Why not Reductil?

Reductil is only intended for people who are already making healthier lifestyle choices. For instance, perhaps they are seeking counseling and they are following a regular healthy diet plan.

They also are usually exercising in moderation. They are not refraining from and/or binging and purging. They may occasionally overeat but not to the extreme of someone who is a compulsive eater.

The reason why Reductil cannot help a person with an eating disorder is because Reductil only takes care of physical cravings. It does not correct the psychological associations to food. The eating disorder should be corrected before use-if it can be used at all.
